So I completely concur with your old person injuries just from navigating our own houses. I am currently sporting a bruise on my hip from last night when I turned the corner too fast getting back to my couch, and rammed smack into the edge of the sofa table. Perhaps we need to go back to the days of baby proof furniture, right my friend?
MJ - I'll concede, he is the GOAT in terms of sport. The thing is, he hates losing more than he loves winning. I mean, you gotta respect that laser focus. I finally watched Air the other week and I loved it. As usual I went on IMDb afterwards for insights, and MJ specifically forbade the actor who played him as a teenager to show his face. Literally no one else can depict MJ except for MJ himself.
I can see why you said Bill Simmons despises Kareem who as you know is *my* all time fave NBA player. Cuz Kareem just had too much else going on with his interest in politics, martial arts, and acting in movies. I love Kareem's intellectualism, humor, amazing writing skills, and vulnerability. All wrapped up in a goofy goggles-wearing, skyhooking package!
I walk into stuff on a daily basis. It's kinda embarrassing.
I hadn't heard that about Air! That's crazy. I did wonder why we never see young MJ's face. Makes sense now.
Bill Simmons' disdain for Kareem had to do more with him being a crybaby (his words). But I totally agree: His accomplishments off the court are staggering. Dude can do it all!
"It was a bad year for our cinematic Olyphant hopes." I love this line...I hear it in Morgan Freeman's voice and it's just so...poignant. I assume you are all about Justified: City Primeval :) We haven't dipped in YET...but I am ready for some Olyphantastic-ness...that was terrible. I regret nothing!
Reasons like you are having open heart surgery or are secretly Jack Ryan out saving the world, I assume :) Don't judge, but we never got to the last season of Justified. I know. I!!! KNOW!!!! I think I'm going to strongly suggest we nom on that and then slide right into City Primeval. TEAM OLYPHANT 4LYFE!! (and THEN I'll rewatch Deadwood. I am not a complicated person) :)
Nothing quite so dramatic! Just being busy. The last season of Justified is one of the best! The end has one my favorite scenes, right up there with 'the next one's coming faster.'
BTW I recently started up Deadwood again just because it's awesome.
HAAAA!!!! YES!!! I might need a Swearengen fix soon. I think I'm just going to rewatch Justified from the beginning. I mean, it's the RESPONSIBLE thing to do!! :)

I haven't started City Primeval yet for reasons but it is freaking killing me! Hopefully this weekend. Fingers crossed. :)

Reading: The changes to Medium's Partner Program. I'm cautiously optimistic.
Watching: Cold Case midday reruns (still). I am an old man that likes watching his stories.
