The Gentlemen by Guy Ritchie was good, Wrath of Man less so, but Operation Fortune was really good, and Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare was alright, too. My favourite though is Rocknrolla, because Tom Hardy and Gerard Butler.

Ritchie’s (début?) Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is pretty good, but afterwards his career reminds me of M. Night Shyamalan’s - promising start, but a series of successive failures afterwards. Which, of course, begs the question of how these people get their films financed.

I've heard good things about Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. Maybe I'll check it out at some point. See what all the fuss is about, and all that.

Ritchie could leverage his British background and open Guy Ritchie's Fish And Chips. The noted British character actor Arthur Treacher once ran an entire national chain like that with his name on it, although it didn't last too long.

Sounds kinda like Tim Horton's!

Lock stock and two smoking barrels is still one of the finest guy Ritchie British films of all time. Forget Snatch. Lock stock set the template. He's barely changed since.

A bunch of my friends back home were complaining about the weather. As someone who probably runs the AC 10 months out of the year, I just have to laugh. But yeah, it's just completely normal weather. No need to ask questions.

Other examples that come to mind ( but brought from the literary world) is Harlans Coben's (insert title) or Stepeh King's (insert title) to promote an adaptation. I'm always pumped when I see both names pop up though.

Good call! You are right, it tends to happen more with adaptations of famous authors. James Patterson is another.
