Of course you tractor beamed me with Maisel--I will acquire her wardrobe eventually and am currently trying to get a hold of Myerson Associates to see if she is taking on new representation :) Confession: I watched maybe 3 EP of Gilmore Girls and just didn't get it or couldn't get it or got hungry and made nachos and then forgot I was watching it. I want to get on board for Melissa McCarthy and because everyone seems to love this series. I am prepared to be convinced...GO! Back to Midge: I envy that you'll have more MM to look forward to. It might require a rewatch (see wardrobe note and also MORE Jane Lynch, please!) :) Lastly: You have officially completed your Stanley Hudson metamorphosis with the soft pretzel situation. I salute you.

LOL! The power of Midge compels you! BTW, a Mrs. Maisel costume party would be hella fun. So many great outfits.

Gilmore is a different breed for sure and I can see why you bounced off of it, BUT it's definitely worth sticking with imo. It's a quirky show. That's the right word. You just sort of go with it and fall in love with the characters. And the dialogue is rapid-fire hilarity. Totally up your alley!

I totally missed the pretzel tie back to my Stanley Hudson piece and now I lay here shattered yet smiling. I like Pretzel Day.

I meant to say on our video meet that I enjoyed your Ode to Stanely piece...I think most of America is Team Hudson at this point. Pretzel Day should be a goddamn national holiday. C'mon Biden! What are you actually DOING over there?! I will give GG another try. Everyone talked about the smart, funny writing...I'll wade back in. YES to a Maisel-themed party. Where is our girl Marmi on this? I'm IN! :)

I'm here BITCHES!! I'm currently geeking out with my Gen Z tastemaker 13yo daughter in Houston where she is totally skooling me on all things manga and YouTube influencer.

I will be sure to write at least one FF article covering the second largest anime and Japanese culture festival in N America, but will hold some stuff back for my own Substack too 😉

Looking forward to tomorrow, can't wait to tune in and here's "hopin" that the tech will work out hee hee. Go crush it and I'm here if you want me to be the plant with the clever questions in case the other nerds go all clammy!

I am dying over here, Marmi! You are a goddamn treasure! And you are doing God’s work with your 13yo. I would barely survive 😉

I'm hangin on by a thread here Sheila, wilting in this 100+ heat but Elle is having the time of her life and tbh so am I! Just had a stiff drink at Pappadeaux with our delicious seafood lunch; luckily I could lean on her as I stumbly walked back to our hotel.

But only to rest for a couple hours until our first panel, then J-fashion show and Cosplay Contest!!

You are both living the dream! This sounds like a reality show I would totally binge! 😉

Hard Knocks is on my watchlist for this season as well. Regardless of the varying quality of seasons, the 2023 Jets, helmed by Aaron Rodgers, are sure to provide built-in reality TV pulpy drama that is hard to ignore.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel was a standout from the beginning. The series had a great run but lost momentum during the last two seasons.

I really enjoyed Hijack. It played with the genre in a unique way and the end ing was amazing!

Frankly, not watching Maisel season five isn’t too bad. It plays with time a lot and, while good, isn’t quite the same. But bite your tongue about Luke. In the show where Rory is kind of the villain, he’s the constant good -- except for season four or five where they kind of make Luke like a bumbling idiot for some reason.

What madness is this? Rory is the villain? Luke--the grumbling, cranky guy--is constantly good? I just don't see it, Justin.

Hijack is just getting better the deeper we get into it. Crazy good show.

Rory constantly makes choices that ruin other people, hence the villain. I mean, she sleeps with a married dude. That’s A-1 villain behavior. She’s the main character and I love her, but she’s not the hero in the story.

Ahh, Auntie Anne's pretzels. I have somehow been mall walking many times without having one of those. Now I feel like I need one immediately.

I agree! You do need one immediately. 😀

I can't imagine the willpower it would take to see an Auntie Anne's and just walk past. You're a different breed, Amanda!

If it helps I'm usually there as soon as the mall opens to walk laps, so they haven't really gotten the pretzel smells going strong yet.
