I've yet to watch The Mandalorian series 3. It's very low on my list of priorities after "Dances with Tuskens". Actually, that was the Boba Fett thing, wasn't it? I don't know. I've lost track/interest. I did like Andor though.

Yes, Boba Fett = Dances With Tuskens. It has its moments but it's not very good. It does include a lot of Mando stuff, so it's basically The Mandalorian season 2.5.

Glad to hear you liked Andor!

Thanks for the Hot Ones clip! I was actually watching an episode of the sitcom 'Home Economics the other day and wondering what show was being parodied when a character appears in an interview where he has to keep eating lemons and other acidic things while trying to answer questions.

The sitcom 'Loot' on Apple TV did a sendup of this as well..

I had no idea you were a Detroit Lions fan. No worries, your team recovered when it drafted Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker. Now the other puzzling picks make more sense.

The Mandalorian’s latest season was enjoyable, but it appears to be building up to something bigger.

Sean Evans’ Hot Ones has become a must–watch institution. The questions are great but the reactions are priceless. Here’s a hilarious clip of guests screaming at Evans. You’re welcome. 🙂

LOL that clip is great! Amazing share. :D

What NFL team do you root for?

I'm a Ravens fan because of Lamar Jackson. I grew up in Louisville where he played college ball. His unique talent revolutionized the QB position. Doug Williams, Warren Moon, Randall Cunningham, and Marlin Briscoe are gleaming with pride after this year's draft.

Warren Moon and Randall Cunningham were OGs! Especially Cunningham, never saw such an athletic quarterback before. Just so much fun to watch.

Lamar is on another level. And he also just negotiated the highest contract in NFL history. Lol, no big deal.

I'm happy he stayed with Baltimore. It's where he belongs. I'm looking forward to watching Anthony Richardson follow in his footsteps.

“most writers are filthy egotists at heart, and love nothing more than marinating in their own words”

What does it say about me that this is what I took from your roundup this week? It might be the truest thing on all the internet.

The scene you mention in Borat (with the naked wrestling) had me crying with laughter. I was still laughing ten minutes later, and had to put a hand over my own mouth as the film had long since moved on. Also, re: the bit where Borat asks the Texas gun shop owner what the best gun for killing Jews was, and with a completely straight face, the owner replies: "That'd be the 45." I have no words...

hahaha! I forgot about the scene in the gun shop!

My 11 year old daughter and I call them Chocolate Bluubs. And we eat them while watching the Mandalorian. We are way behind. On Mando, not the consumption of the Brookside treat.

We call them 'coco chums' in my house, which comes from a Berenstain Bears book where the kids and dad get fat from eating too much junk food. :D

Watching: The new John Mulaney special.

Reading: Finally (finally!) finsihing S.W. Lauden's "Forbidden Beat." It's a killer read- I'm just far too easily distracted for my own good.

How much does Beaverton feature in Shoe Dog? It's my hometown, so I feel like I would spend a lot of time saying "actually" while reading. Same reason I haven't seen Air yet. There's enough pedantry in the world already, yaknow?

Listening: Autobahn's "Ecstasy of Ruin." It just dropped today. From the PR blurb: "...their characteristic blend of industrial post-punk intact, but under the bonnet they’re a much leaner, more focused machine. AUTOBAHN 3.0." Rad.

Beaverton is mentioned some, but not a ton. The book mostly has to do with the early days, when they were Blue Ribbon Sports. The storyline ends in 1980, though there is an epilogue in 2006 or 07. I had no idea you were from Oregon!

RE: distracted reading. I have the same problem. My currently reading list on Goodreads is depressingly long.

Yep! Born & raised. Chased a girl out to WI (how's that for cliché?). It didn't last, but I never left.

I can remember when Nike was in part of a small office complex. with Tektronix not too far away. My friends and I also rode our BMX bikes through what is now their world HQ.

I just *know* I'd be whatever the IRL equivalent of a reply guy is through the whole film. Heck, I feel like one just typing this! lol.

I sorta want you to read it now and report back 😂

Those Brookside things sound good except for the fruit part, do they come in all chocolate version or barring that - with some peanut butter or ganache? At any rate, good on Mrs. Pierce for making sure you get in your daily dose of antioxidants!

Hot Ones is awesome, I have only ever seen the Zoe Kravitz one but she was really good, as you would expect. Very down to earth despite she was able to very casually say that Nicole Kidman sucks at bowling while Meryl Streep is a great bowler, "well Meryl is just good at EVERYTHING" :) Off to watch at least the Pedro Pascal one, thanks for the links!
