I really recommend reading "The Secret History of Star Wars" because it specifically examines just how the whole "Vader is the father" really developed and how that completely changed the trajectory of the series as a whole. Also, S2 of The Wire is great. And the 'All Prologue' episode is one of its finest. Given that its structured differently than many serials, it typically starts off slowly, starts to rev up around mid-season and then is fast and furious in the final 3-4 hours.
I have seen Batman Caped Crusader and I liked it a lot. It's not a great series yet, but I've really enjoyed what it's doing and it goes in some truly surprising directions. Its take on Harley Quinn is a particular standout.
Thanks for the book rec! I'll find a copy, that sounds super interesting.
I haven't seen any of the animated Batmans, though I've heard good things about several of them. Just have a hard time watching animated shows vs live action any more.
When "A New Hope" was first released in 1977, a lot of people were probably confused by the "Episode IV" in the opening narrative crawl. ("Did we miss the first three?") And they had to wait twenty years until an "Episode I" actually came along...
“Darth” as a first name is low key one of my favorite parts of episode 4.
I'll need to check Vince on Hot Ones; My favorite one was Conan's earlier in the year. It was unhinged and chaotic.
I love Conan but that performance was a bit too unhinged for me. Some times he's just a little too "look at me" for my tastes.
Hope you dig the Vince episode! It's really great.

When 'A New Hope' was first released, it was just Star Wars. It wasn't Episode VI until it was re-released in theaters in 1981, after Empire.
