I’m a big fan of Rouge One - reminds me of the WWII films I used to watch on TV Sunday afternoons in the late 70s. Just a rocking story that ends the way it should - no last second salvation. A true suicide mission for a greater cause. Plus, it actually has Vader being a bit of the badass you always suspected he could be but never saw.

Totally agree about Vader. It was nice to see him as the guy everyone was terrified of.

Rogue One is my favourite Star Wars film for the same reasons. The characters are so good, and you hope for them even though you know there's slim chance.

I can’t believe you are only discovering The Bear! It’s easily my favorite show. My plans this weekends are focused on binging S3. - I love love love the Big Sick! You reminded me I’m due for a rewatch

I'd argue that, acting-wise, the best SW movie is The Last Jedi. I mean, Mark Hamill turned in an Oscar worthy performance as Old Man Luke.

TLJ and Rogue One are both the best-looking and best acted Star Wars films. I give the edge to Rogue One because some of TLJ leans too far into slapstick imo. Hamill did kill it in TLJ, no doubt.

If you like Rogue One, you need to talk about Andor. Easily the best storytelling in the whole SW universe. Brilliant.

Andor is exceptional! One of these days I'll rewatch it and write about it. 🤓

If you don't, I will. :)

Andor is a fantastic show. I am also a sucker for prison break stuff so it was right up my alley

To be honest I was not a huge fan of Rogue One, I actually liked Han Solo a lot more. I know I am in the minority here but once you get over the actor change for Han I found it quite enjoyable. Fun action with quippy dialogue. A couple jokes that actually made me laugh like when Han was talking all big at the end and the Falcon just flew away. I dunno, I went in expecting nothing and came out thoroughly entertained.
