I'm so glad you're watching and enjoying The Mindy Project and that I can take a little credit for it, haha. It's a bit messy at times but when it's good, it's really good.

I saw The Force Awakens opening day at a Noon showing. Didn't bother telling work I was gone. Stuff like that is why I can never go back to an office.

Empty theaters are the best! Even better when you're there playing hooky.

My company has a bad habit of "disappearing" people and then saying things like "there's more to the story" in the sort of hushed tones usually reserved for ghost stories. Then later you find out it was 'cause they were late a bunch of times or whatever.

Also, "disappearing people" sounds like you work for the CIA. Hmmm...

I'm not nearly that cool, but I like the way you think.

I wasn't surprised and there are at least 2 things I can think of that might have gotten him fired. But still, threw me for a loop.

I'd go to the theater every week if it was empty! I guess I just need to take more random days off. :)

Loved the Mindy Project first couple of seasons and then...well...it got very silly and very stupid and she had a baby and it all kept going round and round and not very funny. Much like Scrubs.

Well that's a bummer. I'll enjoy it while it lasts. Thanks for the heads-up!

Every adult deserves to play hooky once in awhile. Not saying you have to get up Ferris Bueller level hijinks but it sounds like you had some fun. I too love an empty theatre and you’ll find me often at a matinee. Also I can’t stay up past 9 pm so a late movie is not a great idea. I’m assuming you saw the movie you reviewed this week which I’ve already added to my watch list. Hope things get better at work but more than likely you’ll find a way to deal and maybe that’s putting your foot down? I get sick of the “be a team player mentality” where employers expect we will pick up the slack and do the work of multiple people temporarily but more than likely forever. It’s BS.

The best not real fireplaceoin the TV is the Lego one, please look that up on YouTube and thank me later 🔥 It's any ASMR fan's/nerd for nostalgic toys' dream. I'll start putting it as my monitor background, thanks for reminding me!

Sorry to hear about what happened to your ex-coworker, if you liked them and were work friends. I've walked into team meetings where that happened, and if no one saw it coming, then that indeed is bad news for them. But if you "had your suspicions," trust me you are probably right but you know what, they'll be fine. I know I'm being cryptic 😉

Is it this one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spPXaCjHFIc

Eh, we weren't friends or anything. I'm not broken up about it, other than how it affects ME. Which is terrible, but true.

Oh wow, it looks like it was taken down and the Grinch replaced with this inferior one! Cuz I went to where I had originally bookmarked it in my YouTube list a couple Christmasee ago and now get that same one you posted 😭

Kong and Godzilla first fought each other in the obvious named "King Kong Versus Godzilla" in the 1960s- it was from Japan and dubbed into English for overseas. Same problem with the people being in the background to the monsters, but it was clear the monsters were guys in suits.

I loved that movie, from a mindless fun point of view. But it's more than that to some. It is a clue to what is REALLY out there.

Godzilla vs. Kong has that fantastic Hollow Earth stuff in it, right? Ryan and I interviewed a Hollow Earther after this movie came out. Much of his "facts" backing up his "the Earth is Hollow" ideology comes from fiction, including movies like this one.

That's madness. But given the state of things in general, I can't say I'm surprised.

Master and Commander is a masterpiece (I'm a huge fan of Peter Weir's work, he's massively underrated). As for Godzilla vs Kong, I enjoyed it - not as good as Skull Island but still a good laugh. I saw it in IMAX when originally released, but I've not yet rewatched it (I have the Blu Ray sitting on my shelf). :)
