Love the thoughts on the X-movies and Days is also my favorite. But...
Wolverine only has an uncredited cameo in ‘Apocalypse’ too, and doesn’t show up at all in either ‘Dark Phoenix’ or ‘New Mutants’! The first two Deadpools don't count either.
Regarding the Wire S2... it has a weird reputation, because it mostly tackles a side story about the death of the working class. Personally, I love it, as I love the tragedy of Frank Sobotka, who in trying to save his own union wound up destroying it, and how it shows another facet of the city with its minute attention to detail. But if you really miss the streets, you'll love S3.
You know what: I totally forgot about those other X-Men movies! I hated Apocalypse and never watched the other 2 you mention. And yeah, Deadpool isn't X-Men in my opinion.
Both Apocalypse and New Mutants are pretty bad, imo, but I'm a hardcore 'Dark Phoenix' defender. I think, given enough time, it'll be re-evaluated. I certainly plan to write about it at some point.
Agree with this “Anyone But You is a prolonged commercial that exists to show us how beautiful Powell and Syndey Sweeney are” But it’s still infinitely better than “Set it Up”
Zoey Deutch was the standout in that movie and it made me want to watch more of her but less of him! It’s ok. Since then I’ve loved Powell’s choices.
I can't disagree harder about Anyone But You. I was primed to love it based on word of mouth but it was just meh. Not funny at all. Sorta cute. I watched Long Shot around the same time and it was light years better.
I read this once and it always stuck with me. You can't think of The Wire as a cop show in the same way as Law & Order or any other show along those lines. It's a show about cops, but it's really a show about the failed war on drugs and what it did to a major American city.
The thing is, I hate procedurals and wouldn't compare them to The Wire at all. I dig movies like New Jack City and liked when the show felt like a nuanced, evolved version of that.

S4 was for me the series at its unequivocal best.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree.
That’s not a bad thing
We can still start a Zoey Deutch fan club. :)
