I haven’t thought about this movie since we went on an epic total Star Wars rewatch sometime during Covid. As you were talking I was remembering we were groaning and gritting our teeth in so many of the same places! What the hell really happened in the making of this flick? It’s almost like someone who had never written a screenplay had been given a one-page synopsis and copy of Idiot’s Guide to Screenwriting and like “Cool, we’ll check back in 3 months.” Minga. I appreciate the thoughtfulness you bring to this discussion, trying to give it at least some purchase within the SW canon. Also: I applaud you for your restraint in not pointing out Count Dooku/Count Dookie. 😉

lol sorry for foisting this movie back onto the front burners of your memory... it's really not a good movie. It's actually pretty terrible all around.

It was really hard not to make at least one Dookie joke. It was sitting right there. It must be a sign of maturity or something since I walked right past.

That's what we call comedic GROWTH! Sometimes you have to let the low hanging joke fruits drop all by themselves :) Honestly, I do appreciate the thoughtfulness that you bring to whatever it is you're discussing. Not every creative work sticks the landing. That's okay....there's something to be learned from it. I'd rather have that be the takeaway ("Wow..definitely not going to make those choices again.") then having something out there that is mediocre or disposable. :)

I appreciate that you call it thoughtfulness and not obsessiveness 🤣

If I have to wait to listen to you talk about Christopher Reeve Superman, I can think of worse ways to spend my time than listening to you talk about Star Wars.

Also, now I have Graham Chapman in my head saying, "On second thought, let us not visit Count Dooku. His is a silly name."

LOL at least someone is anticipating the Reeve Superman movies. I was afraid I was off chasing my own notions. Wouldn't be the first time. :D

When I was a kid, episode two was my favorite. Then I got older and now I find it hard to make it through the movie, haha. I like what it did for the series tho. Without the clones we wouldn't have most of the good parts of the prequels like clone wars and bad batch.
