If a podcast could ever be said to be like the Death Star, All the Fanfare is currently akin to Death Star II—incomplete, a little unseemly looking, also fully armed and operational. I guess in this analogy I’m Emperor Palpatine—luxuriating on his throne and assured of victory. We’ll end the comparison there, before some young upstart tosses me down an impossibly long energy shaft.
For those who aren’t fluent in nerd: Things progress swimmingly. The first episode is 95% done. It could be 100% done but I keep tinkering with it. “Fix it in post” is my new default vibe.
The second episode exists as a raw audio file. I’ll start editing it tomorrow or Monday. Episode three will be recorded next week. My intent is to build up a sufficient backlog to keep to a weekly schedule. Based on some basic math, I’ve arrived at the launch date.
The podcast will launch May 15.
I’m hosting the podcast on Substack, and will syndicate it to all the major networks. I’ll send a follow-up communication with instructions on subscribing via your app of choice. The podcast will be free, but I’ll also do some paid subscriber-only episodes.
With the introduction of the podcast, I’ll be adjusting my publication schedule to a M/W/F cadence:
Monday: long form article on All the Fanfare
Wednesday: podcast episode
Friday: the High Five
For my paid subscribers
I want to talk a bit about what’s coming, my thoughts on the podcast, and also solicit feedback on topics you’re interested in.
