Our oldest kid gets a discount on Hulu and (I think?) HBO Max, and like you, it seems weird to be cribbing those from him, but here we are.
What's got my attention these days? White Lotus and March Madness in equal parts. The WI Film Festival is also coming up and I'm really looking forward to seeing a screening of "Just a Bit Outside: The Story of the 1982 Milwaukee Brewers."
Everything you said about Running Point! I love it. I'm so glad they made this since as you said, it's like the sequel to Winning Time which I really miss. Mindy Kaling was on Armchair Expert and she said how Running Point is like a tribute to her dad who really loves basketball, like the really deep cut players from the Celtics that people who have only heard of Parrish or Bird wouldn't know. But the show works also even if you are just a casual fan who is familiar with the basics of the NBA and those sports commentary shows on ESPN and TNT. Hope this gets a S2!
It got renewed! I'm happy we'll get a season 2 because I feel season 1 didn't have a lot of time to fully explore the characters and build more complex traits for them.
Good vibes: re-watching the Sonic trilogy, and definitely thinking that the redesign of the character necessitated a significant re-working of the whole first movie, which really tried to be 'grounded' in our reality.
Just started watching The Residence and damn...this is one fun show! There aren't many movies/series's that make me laugh heartily but I love this!
Also watched Adolescence to keep my happiness in check. Worrying look at incel culture but I think it makes it all very black and white...shit will happen if your child never gets off the computer and goes outside to mingle - plus talking in chat rooms leads to more bad shit. Plenty of children in the 90s experienced this and never ended up killing girls. Back in my day they were blamed on video nasties (James Bulgar case springs to mind)...but even then it felt too simplistic an excuse.
I watched the first two seasons of The Boys and really liked them, but then I stopped. Maybe I should finish them, but it kinda feels like the show was just the same note over and over again.
In 1997, I submitted a play I wrote in 1991 to Midwestern Playwrights Festival at the University of Toledo. It was called The Age of Polly Toliver, about a twelve-year-old girl who stops getting any older in the 1820s and remains age 12, at least biologically, for the next hundred years. It had already gotten a staged reading at Hedgerow Theatre near Philadelphia in 1993. Out of 100 submissions, it won third place at the festival and received two publicly performed staged readings as a result. Life and motherhood got in the way of me pursing any more work on this play or any others. Then, in 2015, when my husband and I were at the movies to see Big Eyes, a trailer for The Age of Adeline appeared. I was shocked, but I knew it was probably a coincidence and there's no way I could prove a connection. Thanks for posting a short synopsis of the movie, as I haven't the heart to watch it myself. I'm glad the movie wasn't a huge blockbuster.

The first thing I did was google to see if S2 was happening 😆
While you have Prime at your disposal you should check out Invincible.
It's on the short list. :)

I've never actually seen any of the Sonic movies, though I've heard good things about them. I was always more of a Mario guy.
I've seen everything XMEN and nothing enthralls me more. They
are almost real to me.
On your rec, I'm watching ŦHE BOYS. I also have been avoiding it, for different reasons. Now I have to. Sigh.
I love the X-Men so much! Logan is amazing, one of my favorites.
Hope you like The Boys! 😅

Anyway...watch The Residence for a happy vibe!
Thanks for putting The Residence on my radar! Looks totally like something I can get down with. The premise alone is really intriguing.
It's incredibly funny! And very clever!
Talking of X-Men, it always puzzles me why no one ever mentions Legion. The first season alone was dazzling and quite true to the comics.
I thought the trailer for Back In Action made it look horrible. Will have to give it a chance I guess.

No, you're not missing anything. Just like Supernatural, Eric Kripke should have stopped at Season 2. Too many unanswered questions.
It just kept getting more and more bizarre.

Wow! You want to believe it's a coincidence but crazier things have happened. I think your version sounds more interesting. :)
You just made my day! Should I lawyer up about my play? Just kidding. It's not like George Harrison copied my song to write "My Sweet Lord".
"Superman" and "asshole" should never be used in the same sentence.
