Well done without spoilers. Have you read the related stories in Machine Learning? Very good and I’ll revisit them once the series is over. Or maybe before.
“Which is why the Bernard was annoyed that Juliette got her hands on IT’s tape. He was afraid someone would put two and two together. And they did, eventually.”
I actually had a brief thought that Bernard wasn’t as sociopathic as he was in the book (though I did develop a little compassion for him upon reflection) but the scene in the farm cemented his dick status.
I’m embarrassed to say I don’t remember Sims from the books. I think Common is inconsistent as an actor, so it’s hard to buy his character, but I do appreciate a well-rounded character which he definitely is in the tv series.
Common as an actor typically only had one gear: angry. He's a lot more nuanced in Silo, so I'm enjoying him. (Sims was a minor character in the books btw, not surprised you don't remember him.) I am curious if Sims will actually be Bernard's shadow, and how Lukas fits in now.
As for Bernard... I actually thought they might make him more morally gray, but that farm scene confirmed he's an asshole.
The mayor specifically reads to the one condemned to outside that they need to clean to let everyone else see how bad it is. That's what confuses me about them all cleaning. Are they not listening? Do the citizens not hear that speech? Because if they all do, and the world is bad outside like it is, that's what the cleaning would represent to them. It wouldn't represent it being nice outside like the fake display and their helmet show them. I just don't find that consistent.

I haven't actually! I'll track it down. I started rereading the series lol :D
Juliette Nichols 4ever
Read the books thrice. Didn’t once put that together.

(I always just assumed Bernard was a dick. Which is also true.)
I hate Bernard! Super curious how his storyline will play out...
What do you think of Sims? I actually like him better because of the show.

Was the badge used as some sort of metallic blocking device to mess up the screen or was she returning it to the sheriff?
She was just returning it to Holston. Good question!
Big fan of the books: read them 3 times. I’m on the edge of my seat for quite some time to see how season 2 turns out
Same!
