Just a short missive to update you on what to expect in the next few weeks.
Nothing!
I’ve decided to shutter All the Fanfare’s windows a bit early. Christmas is looming and time is in ever-shorter supply. But I’m also ready for a break.
I published 100 posts via Substack in 2024. Seems crazy. But that’s a post every Friday, and more recently also every Sunday, and the podcast, and also the random crap I get up to when I’ve had too much caffeine.
That number doesn’t include 35 supporter exclusives published in 2024. (Become a supporter today for only $1! Limited time offer! I’m popular with moms—buy a subscription for yours!)
So in all likelihood, this is the last you’ll hear from me in 2024.
I know what you’re probably thinking: Finally. But on the off-chance you’re genuinely disappointed—looking at you, Mom—Santa might sneak something into your stocking.
I’m working on an article for supporters about the Vince Vaughn Christmas duology that I’d like to finish soon for obvious reasons.
I’m sitting on a podcast delving into the entire season of The Penguin that needs a bit of editing before it’s published.
I have vague ideas for a Christmas satire involving Emperor Palpatine, similar to my Sauron Claus bit.
Those are listed according to the probability they’ll happen before end of year.
Normal activities will resume January 3rd with a special edition of the High 5. It’ll be a look back at 2024 and will include a special guest!
Don’t forget that I willfully (some might say eagerly) watched a bunch of terrible Christmas movies to steer you towards the good ones. The list is up to 40 movies. I have a couple more to add. Pray for my soul.
Assuming this is the last you hear from me in 2024, let me leave you with this: Thank you for reading and supporting. I appreciate every single one of you.
I hope you have a safe and magical holiday season, one that replenishes your spirit.
See ya in 2025.
Thx for managing expectations. And HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Enjoy your time away! See you in 2025. 😀
